Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan officially started its duties and opening ceremony was held in the building of the Embassy in Mexico City. Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affaires of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. A.Azimov, Ambassador I.Mukhtarov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affaires of the United Mexican States Mrs. M.Aranda held speeches on the ceremony

On 21 October 2009 Ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov presented his credentials to the President of the United Mexican States H.E. Mr. Felipe Calderon. Ceremony took place in the National Palace of Mexico. Minister of Foreign Affaires of the United Mexican States Ms. Patricia Espinoza also participated at the ceremony.
