From 6 to 11 March the Days of the Culture of Azerbaijan, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Mexico and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan took place in Mexico.

For the first time in the history of the bilateral relations between the two countries, in the concert hall of the largest National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico, took place a Gala concert with the participation of artists of folk music, the State Dance Ensemble, young mugam performers, as well as the children's dancing group "Torch of the East".

On February 23, 2010 in the framework of international campaign “Justice for Khojaly” a Conference regarding commemoration of the 18 th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre, took place at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)

The conference was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United Mexican States, the governing body of the UNAM and the National coordinator of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly” in Mexico, Luiz Felipe Perez. UNAM professors and students, Embassies’ representatives accredited in Mexico and mass media also took part in the conference.

President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the World Azerbaijanis on the occasion of December 31, the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, and on the New Year.
The congratulatory message reads:

2009 goes down the history. 2009 became for all countries a year of real test. In 2009, financial and economic crisis had negative impact possibly on all world countries. In 2009, the countries have demonstrated on what they are capable with their opportunities, their natural resources and conducted reforms.
